A US official confirmed Thursday a report that a draft peace agreement has the United States and its European allies committing to a NATO-style security guarantee for Ukraine, pledging to respond to any future attacks.

The report by Axios states that “any future ‘significant, deliberate, and sustained armed attack’ by Russia on Ukraine ‘shall be regarded as an attack threatening the peace and security of the transatlantic community,’ and the US and its allies will respond accordingly, including through military force.”
