AFP reports: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday he had discussed US security guarantees for Kyiv with top officials from the Trump administration, a day after Ukraine submitted counter-proposals on a plan to end the war with Russia.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner were all on the call, as was NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Zelensky said.
“In the near future, there will be a clear understanding of the security guarantees,” Zelensky said in a post on social media, without providing details.
