In a lengthy post on X on Sunday, Greene claimed nuclear options have been raised during strategy meetings. “Yes you read that correctly. It’s real. I’m not speculating, I know,” she wrote.

Greene strongly condemned the idea, pointing to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 and the enormous civilian toll that followed. She argued that any use of nuclear weapons against Iran could trigger consequences far beyond the immediate battlefield, including wider regional conflict, economic disruption and mass casualties.

She also criticized the Trump administration’s handling of the conflict, accusing officials of escalating tensions despite earlier intelligence assessments that, according to her, did not show Iran was close to producing a nuclear weapon.

Greene further argued that President Donald Trump had campaigned on avoiding new foreign wars but now risks taking the United States into a far more dangerous confrontation. She urged Americans to speak out against any lowering of the threshold for nuclear weapons use.

“Do not use nuclear weapons and stop this war NOW,” Greene wrote.

Her claims have not been independently verified, and she did not provide public evidence showing that the administration has approved or is preparing a nuclear strike.

On Monday morning, Trump posted that his administration’s “number one Goal” remains ensuring that Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon. His statement did not directly address Greene’s allegation that U.S. officials were discussing using nuclear weapons.
